Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme(SEIS)

The Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) are two government initiatives that encourage innovation. The schemes grant private investors a significant tax break when investing in early-stage, ‘high-risk’ companies.

The Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) allows an individual to invest up to £100k per tax year and receive a 50% tax break in return along with additional tax benefits. EIS allows an individual to invest up to £1 million per tax year and receive a 30% tax break plus additional tax benefits. For both schemes, there is no inheritance tax to pay on shares held for two years.

We helped businesses deal with SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance and SEIS/EIS compliance statements.

We’ve helped clients grow their businesses by utilising SEIS and EIS. There are some trades excluded from the schemes (e.g., accounting and property development). We can take you through the number of tests that must be satisfied to be SEIS and EIS eligible. Then we can support your application and implementation of the investments.
